The 25-year-old is on the for-sale list at Queens Park Rangers but the Black Cats will not be pursuing his signature.
Sunderland are no longer interested in Junior Hoilett and QPR are struggling to offload the out-of-favour winger, according to the Sunday People.
Indeed, Hoilett is not wanted at Loftus Road but neither Sunderland, Bournemouth nor Borussia Monchengladbach want to pursue their earlier interest in the Canadian due to his £45,000-per-week wages with the R’s.
The Sunday People report that QPR are simply ‘desperate’ to sell the wide man – but that they are making no progress in their bid to offload him.
| 2014/15 | Chances Created | Accurate Crosses | Dribbles | Minutes Played |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Joey Barton | 56 | 37 | 17 | 2,351 |
| Bobby Zamora | 49 | 7 | 5 | 1,782 |
| Leroy Fer | 48 | 6 | 59 | 2,365 |
| Matthew Phillips | 34 | 34 | 42 | 1,822 |
| Mauricio Isla | 30 | 20 | 16 | 2,131 |
| Junior Hoilett | 12 | 2 | 17 | 878 |
As Opta stats show, there is little wonder QPR want to offload the Canadian this season.
Despite his reported salary, Hoilett managed just two accurate crosses in 878 minutes of Premier League football last term. He also created just 12 chances all campaign – while there is a simple reason he received such little game time in that he has not done anywhere near enough since moving to west London.
It is also little wonder, then, that Sunderland, Bournemouth and Gladbach are reportedly no longer interested in his signature. Will Chris Ramsey have to make do with him at Loftus Road, though, if his wages prove to be such a stumbling block?
