Sunderland midfielder Didier Ndong is reportedly wanted by Benfica.

It has been reported that the Portuguese transfer window does not close for another fortnight, although a deal with Benfica – who will play in the Champions League this season – is claimed to be some way off.
Departure likely?
The Northern Echo has reported that Ndong is on unauthorised leave, and it does seem that the 24-year-old wants to leave Sunderland.
Jack Ross’s side are doing well without the 24-year-old midfielder at the moment, and the League One club should not hesitate to part company with the Gabon international at the right price.

Sunderland struggles
Ndong has been on the books of Sunderland since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Lorient for a transfer fee reported by The Chronicle to be worth £13 million.
The midfielder made 27 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Sunderland during the 2016-17 campaign, scoring one goal in the process, according to WhoScored.
During the 2017-18 season, the Gabon international made 16 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for the Black Cats, providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored, and spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Watford.
