Sunderland are hoping to sign Aiden McGeady within the next few days.
Sunderland have been heavily linked with a move for Everton winger Aiden McGeady this summer, and according to reports from The Northern Echo, the Black Cats will sign the player in the next couple of days.
The report claims that Sunderland have already agreed a deal with Everton over the signing of McGeady. Everton officials have agreed a deal for 31-year-old that will see Sunderland pay around £2 million for the Irishman.

The Echo adds that despite the deal being agreed, it has been held up due to a number of contractual issues that are yet to be resolved.
The deal cannot be finalized until McGeady has reached an agreement with the Toffees. However, Sunderland are expected to sign him as early as within this week.
McGeady is keen to move to the Stadium of Light and reunite with his former manager Simon Grayson. He is not in the first team plans of Everton manager, Ronald Koeman, and will be allowed to leave.
The Black Cats have already signed two players – Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning – from Everton, and McGeady is likely to become their latest addition.
