Sunderland and Wolverhampton Wanderers are credited with interest in the Sheffield Wednesday striker.
Jordan Rhodes of Sheffield Wednesday
It is claimed that Wednesday will not allow Rhodes – who became the Owls’ record signing in July – to leave the club on a temporary basis.
Rhodes has scored just five goals in 25 appearances since his February arrival from Middlesbrough, initially on loan.

And The Mirror reported on Wednesday that Carlos Carvalhal’s side were seeking £10 million to part with the Scotland international, whose father Andy is on the coaching staff in Sheffield 6.
The report claimed Sunderland, whose manager Simon Grayson managed Rhodes at Huddersfield, were ready to ‘battle it out’ with Wolves to sign the player.
But according to The Sun, the 27-year-old now looks set to remain at Hillsborough.
Jurgen Locadia of PSV Eindhoven
The Mirror reports that Wolves are hoping to pull off a £10-million-plus deal for PSV Eindhoven striker Jurgen Locadia, while Sunderland are still hoping to loan Ross McCormack from Aston Villa according to The Chronicle.
