Aston Villa’s Ross McCormack is reportedly wanted by Derby County and Sunderland.
According to the Daily Mail, Derby County have joined the race to land Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack on loan this summer.
McCormack, 30, smashed 42 goals in 100 games for Fulham to earn a big-money move to Villa last summer, with many believing that he – alongside Jonathan Kodjia – could fire the goals to send Villa back to the Premier League.

Whilst Kodjia excelled following his move from Bristol City, McCormack endured a nightmare campaign with Villa, scoring just three times in 22 games before being loaned out to Nottingham Forest in January following a row with manager Steve Bruce.
Injury curtailed McCormack’s impact with Forest, meaning he notched just one goal and one assist in seven appearances before returning to Villa Park, where has been frozen out again by Bruce having been left out of the club’s pre-season squad in Germany.
McCormack is now expected to leave Villa this summer, most likely on loan, with the Daily Mail now claiming that Derby County have made a late move to join Sunderland in the race for McCormack’s signature.
Sunderland have appeared to be the front-runners in the battle for McCormack’s signature, given that manager Simon Grayson worked with the Scot at Leeds United with great success in their second season together.

However, Derby are now joining the race as they look to add quality to their squad, having lost the likes of Tom Ince and Will Hughes earlier this summer, and have identified McCormack as a top target.
Other Championship clubs are believed to have made enquiries, but with Villa looking for a loan fee in order to send McCormack out, it could come down to a straight fight between Derby and Sunderland.
