Sunderland have reportedly set their asking price for Josh Maja as Celtic monitor the striker.

According to a report from The Sun, Sunderland have rejected a £2 million Premier League offer for Josh Maja with the Black Cats wanting double that figure for the striker, who is being monitored by Celtic.
The Sun reports that Cardiff made the seven-figure bid for the 15-goal striker who is out of contract at the Stadium of Light at the end of the season and has rejected a new deal.
The report adds that Sunderland hold out some hope that they may be able to keep Maja, and have thus, set a £4 million asking price for the 20-year-old.
Although Maja is already free to talk to non-English clubs about his future, it would surely be fair to suggest that Sunderland’s reported asking price has to be good news for the likes of Celtic.

The Sun reports that the Hoops are amongst those keen on signing the forward in the summer. So they may be quite pleased that his current club are demanding so much money during this window.
Maja should prove to be a bargain at £4 million. But with his contract running down, that price may still put off some of those interested in pursuing a deal this month, boosting the chances of the forward remaining on the market when the season concludes.
