Sunderland are looking to offload their Premier league flops.

The 29-year-old is one of the remaining Premier League players in Sunderland’s squad, along with the likes of Didier Ndong, Papy Djilobodji and Bryan Oviedo on big contracts at the Stadium of Light.
Indeed, the Daily Star claim former Lorient defender Kone is earning a huge £45,000 a week, but that figure may have reduced following the club’s relegation into the third tier of English football.
Now, the report claims Kone is set to travel to Alsace on Wednesday in order to rubber stamp a deal and undergo a medical, after the clubs initially agreed a move for the powerful Ivory Coast international.
Following their promotion to the top flight from France’s second tier, Strasbourg are desperate to try and add some reinforcements as they look to beat the drop and Kone seems to be their latest example of just that.

He is now expected to team up with former Newcastle United goalkeeper Matz Sels, who joined the club for a fee of £4million. Sunderland have signed four centre-backs this summer, easing the loss of Kone.
Jack Baldwin has come in from Peterborough United for a bargain fee of £200,000, while Glenn Loovens, Alim Ozturk and Tom Flanagan have signed on from Sheffield Wednesday, Boluspor and Burton Albion respectively.
