Harrison Sohna is in line for a summer move to Sunderland with the Birmingham Mail reporting the League One giants are taking a close look at the Aston Villa midfielder.
This season alone, the Black Cats have snapped up a host of talented youngsters from Premier League clubs.
Morgan Feeney arrived from Everton last summer, joining ex-Burnley starlet Vinnie Steels and one-time West Bromwich Albion prospect Sam Wilding at the Stadium of Light.
And, with his contract expiring in July, 18-year-old Sohna could also be wearing red-and-white stripes next season.
According to reports from the Midlands, Sohna will be allowed to leave Villa Park on a free transfer.
Sunderland recently took the deep-lying midfielder on trial, handing him a start during a recent youth-team clash with Norwich City.

Sohna has made 11 Premier League 2 appearances this season and even made a first-team debut in January’s FA Cup third round defeat to Liverpool, a game in which Aston Villa were forced to field a team made up of academy players as covid ripped through the club.
A move to Sunderland would see Sohna link up with Lee Johnson, a coach with a fine track record when it comes to blooding young talent.
