Sunderland are said to be the favourites to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ben Marshall.

Ben Marshall could be a superb signing for Sunderland, if they can bring him in from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to a report in the Shields Gazette, Sunderland are the favourites to sign Marshall, despite big competition.

And Marshall’s arrival at the Stadium of Light would have to be seen as a really positive move from Chris Coleman’s side.

The winger may not have made much of an impact at Wolves this season, but his quality at Championship level is undoubted.

Marshall has previously troubled defences on regular occasions in the second tier, with his skill and creativity very eye catching.

Marshall has proven at both Blackburn Rovers and Wolves that he is a very able player.

And, with Sunderland battling against relegation, Marshall has enough quality in his boots to fire them up the table.

Marshall would immediately become one of the Black Cats’ best sources of creativity, and his potential arrival at the Stadium of Light should seriously excite supporters on Wearside.
