Sunderland and West Brom are reportedly in the race to sign Martin Caceres.
Martin Caceres celebrates
According to The Mirror, Southampton, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion are just three of the clubs to register an interest in signing defender Martin Caceres.
Caceres, 29, is a free agent having left Juventus at the end of his contract this past summer, and his CV makes him an attractive proposition for many Premier League clubs.

Having come up through the ranks with Defensor in his native Uruguay, Caceres has carved out a successful career in Europe having turned out for Barcelona, Sevilla and Juventus.
Primarily a centre back who can also play at right back, Caceres has made more than 250 appearances during his club career, whilst he also has 68 caps for Uruguay, meaning he brings huge experience.

A one-time La Liga winner and five-time Serie A champion, Caceres is unsurprisingly in demand as a free agent now the transfer window has closed, and whilst his sketchy injury history is a concern, he could be set for the Premier League.
The Mirror report that Caceres has interest from five Premier League clubs – Chelsea, Southampton, Sunderland, Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion – and is likely to sign for an English team in the coming weeks.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte signed Caceres at Juventus and could look to reunite to boost his defence even after the signing of David Luiz, but other clubs may be willing to offer more first-team football.
Sunderland are certainly a club in need of any kind of help, and after signing free agent striker Victor Anichebe earlier this month, David Moyes isn’t afraid to dip into the free agent market – and Caceres could fit the bill to aid Sunderland’s defence.
