A report claims the 24-year-old is being primed a move to English football, with Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City also targets.

A quintet of British sides, including north-east pair Sunderland and Newcastle United, will be offered the chance to sign Bordeaux left-back Maxime Poundje, according to the Sunday People (page 48).
The report claims that Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City will also be targeted, with the 24-year-old out of contract next summer.
Poundje, a former France Under-19 international, has played 70 times for his hometown team but is currently sidelined with Achilles tendon problems.

Of the aforementioned clubs, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and West Brom are arguably the most in need of reinforcements in Poundje’s position.
Patrick van Aanholt is Sunderland’s only natural left-back, with Brendan Galloway in the same boat at West Brom, while Palace are without Pape Souare for the foreseeable future following a serious car crash last month.

In contrast, both Newcastle and Swansea are seemingly well-stocked, with Achraf Lazaar, Paul Dummett and Massadio Haidara all on the Magpies books, with Neil Taylor and Stephen Kingsley vying for a spot at the Liberty Stadium.
Poundje has spent his entire career with Bordeaux, but for a loan spell at Nimes five years ago.
