The Echo’s report claims that Sunderland have agreed to match Mason’s £40,000-a-week wages and he is expected on Wearside today to undergo a medical.
Mason looks set to join Nacer Chadli, Nabil Bentaleb, DeAndre Yedlin, Federico Fazio and Alex Pritchard out the exit door this summer and with just two days left until the transfer window closes, Spurs will be working hard to bring in replacements.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is set to be announced once Clinton Njie’s loan to Marseille is finalised and a picture of the Frenchman at Hotspur Way emerged last night.

Pau Lopez is also expected to join, with the Espanyol goalkeeper due to arrive on loan-to-buy deal subject to the La Liga side securing a replacement, according to Sky Sports.
It’s unclear whether Spurs will bring in further reinforcements beyond those two, and concern has surfaced amongst fans who feel the club may be leaving themselves a little short ahead of a crucial campaign.
