Wolverhampton Wanderers are set for a busy summer after a disappointing year in the Championship.
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Jack Price could be allowed to leave this summer
A report in the Express and Star has suggested that Wolves will take up the option in Jack Price’s contract to extend his deal by another year, but plan to tell the 24-year-old that he is still free to leave Molineux this summer.
Price’s deal is set to expire in the coming weeks. And despite the midfielder beginning life under Paul Lambert as a fairly important part of his plans, the Express and Star suggests that an exit is highly possible.
According to the Express and Star, Wolves will activate the option in his contract that will technically see him tied down to the club until 2018, but that is only to boost his resale value as Lambert no longer sees him as part of his plans as he looks to build a team capable of putting the unspectacular season behind them.
Meanwhile, another player likely to leave this summer is Silvio, the Express and Star reports. Like Price, the Portuguese’s contract expires in the near future, and with the full-back leaving the country soon after the campaign’s conclusion, the Express and Star suggest that his time at Molineux is over.
Silvio looks likely to leave Wolves
Although the 29-year-old only made four appearances in the Championship, it would not be a surprise if the supporters were slightly disappointed to see the defender leave.
Silvio was excellent in the final day win over Preston North End, and was arguably just as impressive in the recent defeat to Huddersfield, so the fans may have hoped that he may have been given the chance to build upon the bright end to the campaign.
But it now appears that he will be playing elsewhere next year, just as Jack Price may well be also if the right bid comes in.
