According to The Express and Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ talks with Adama Traore have stalled – but they remain calm about his future.
It’s claimed that Wolves have been in talks with Traore over a new and improved contract at Molineux, but they have failed to reach an agreement.
Wolves aren’t putting pressure on Traore just yet, given that his current deal only expires in the summer of 2013, but the impasse isn’t ideal.
The 24-year-old has started just three Premier League games so far this season, and none since the end of September as Nuno Espirito Santo has preferred Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto.
Traore has yet to register a goal or an assist this season, and is having to make do with sporadic substitute appearances in what could be a difficult situation.
Traore may hold off signing a new deal until his playing time increases, whilst Wolves may be reluctant to start him until they know Traore wants to stay.
FourFourTwo reported over the summer that Liverpool and Manchester City both want to sign Traore, and they may be keeping tabs on his situation.
Liverpool did though raid Wolves for Diogo Jota over the summer, and with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino still at the club, another attacker may not be a priority.
Still, if Traore gets towards the final two years of his Wolves deal, don’t be surprised if Jurgen Klopp and co look to lure the speedy Spaniard to Anfield to join forces with Jota once again.
