Hull City reportedly wanted to sign Lee Cattermole from Sunderland in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Hull in the Championship wanted to sign Cattermole from League One side Sunderland in the summer transfer window.
However, the 30-year-old former Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic midfielder’s wages was the huge stumbling block, according to the report.
Staying at Sunderland?
Cattermole’s recent performances and form for Sunderland have not been great, but there is no doubt that the 30-year-old will be a great player for the Black Cats in League One.
With his extensive experience and combative style of play, the former Wigan star will be an asset for manager Jack Ross this season.

Winning promotion
Sunderland will be determined to bounce straight back to the Championship, having been relegated from League One at the end of last season.
The Black Cats have a very good squad and made some brilliant signings in the summer transfer window, and the Stadium of Light faithful should be confident.
