Everton and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson in the summer transfer window.

Everton are interested in signing Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City in the summer transfer window, according to The Express.
It has been reported that the Toffees are ready to offer the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder a weekly salary of £140,000.
According to the report, Everton manager Ronald Koeman sees the 27-year-old as an ideal replacement for Ross Barkley, who is claimed to be on the radar of Premier League rivals Tottenham.
“Newcastle United are also interested in Sigurdsson but Everton are in pole position with a huge offer which they will be unable to match,” adds the report in The Express.
Newcastle are playing in the Championship at the moment, but they are likely to get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.
Sigurdsson, who is rated at £30 million according to The Express, would be a great signing for Newcastle, but the Magpies would not be able to offer him £140,000 as weekly salary that Everton are reportedly prepared to pay.
The Iceland international has scored eight goals and created 62 chances in 33 Premier League appearances for Swansea so far this season.
During the 2015-16 campaign, Sigurdsson has scored 11 goals and created 56 chances in 36 league matches for the Swans.
