Tottenham Hotspur appear to have reignited their interest in the Crystal Palace star.
A report in The Sun has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur currently have no plans to pursue Wilfried Zaha during the January transfer window, but will instead make another move for the Crystal Palace winger during the summer.
The Sun reports that Spurs have reignited their interest in the 24-year-old after failing to bring him to White Hart Lane in the summer despite making a £15 million bid.
Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha
However, The Sun adds that Tottenham are not particularly keen to do their business during the winter window, and are thus set to hold off plans to go after the wide-man until after the end of the season.
In the long-term, Spurs fans may well reflect that it is probably the right decision to hold fire on trying to bring Zaha to White Hart Lane.
The urgency that is associated with the January window often means that teams have to pay inflated fees to land their targets, especially if they are signing key men from other clubs, which Zaha most definitely is.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
However, with a tough run of fixtures ahead before the upcoming window comes to a close, Pochettino may feel somewhat compelled to consider an earlier move much more seriously if the team are struggling for creativity going forward.
But with Tottenham putting three past Hull City on Wednesday, it does not appear that that will not be an issue that they have to contend with.
