Glasgow Rangers forward Kenny Miller is currently sidelined with injury, but may be back playing for the Ibrox side sooner than some may have expected.

According to a report from the Daily Record, Kenny Miller is hopeful that he could be back playing for Rangers shortly after the winter break – just a day after the club put out a statement on their official website which stated that the veteran will miss a significant period of the season.
Miller ruptured a hamstring during the early stages of the recent win over Hibernian at Easter Road and missed the defeat to St Johnstone at the weekend that saw the Gers lose second place in the Scottish Premiership.

And Light Blues fans would have been forgiven for wondering whether the 37-year-old would get the chance to play for the club again after the Ibrox side stated on their official website that he would be missing for a considerable spell – the fact that no timescale was placed on the return was certainly a worrying sign.
However, the Record suggests that the forward could actually be back a lot sooner than many expect. According to their report, Miller – who is out of contract at the end of the season – is hoping to make his return to the first-team shortly after the end of the winter break.
That could perhaps mean that Miller may only miss a handful of games during the coming weeks, which, while he has certainly not been at his best this season, may provide a boost for Graeme Murty or the potential new manager if the club make an appointment while he is sidelined.

Miller brings some much-needed experience to the side, so having him back in the ranks much sooner than some would have expected would certainly be beneficial – if that proves to be the case – even if he is not contributing quite as much out on the pitch.
Rangers’ next game sees Murty’s men travel to Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock in the top flight on Saturday.
