Florentino Perez shirked at the asking price from West Ham.
France’s Dimitri Payet celebrates after scoring their second goal
A report in France today has suggested the vast fee that West Ham United reportedly asked Real Madrid to pay for the services of their star player Dimitri Payet this summer.
BuzzSports report that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez identified the Frenchman as his number one transfer target this summer after his performances for France at Euro 2016.

However, when an approach was made to West Ham for the services of the playmaker the fee quoted to Real Madrid was said to be an astronomical €110 million (£92.3 million).
That would have made Payet the most expensive player in the world and Perez apparently put an instant stop to any further negotiations over the signing of the West Ham player.

West Ham only agreed a new deal with Payet to keep him at the club in Februry, after interest from Chinese clubs in his signature.
So they were more than entitled to stand their ground in the transfer market in regards to their star player.
Real Madrid are happy to pay money for the right players, but £92.3 million for a player who turns 30 during this season would have been too much – even for Real.
