West Ham United have three managers lined for the job who they hope to approach in the summer according to a new report.
West Ham called time on Slaven Bilic’s tenure as manager on Monday morning after the 4-1 defeat to Liverpool last time out.
With just two wins from the first 11 games the Hammers find themselves in the relegation zone.
News that David Moyes has replaced Bilic on a six month contract (Sky Sports) has not gone down well with supporters, many of whom have turned on the board as a result.
Fans were promised the earth on leaving Upton Park for the London Stadium but have seen David Sullivan and David Gold spend just £4million net since the move.
And the Hammers faithful feel that lack of ambition is evident in the choice of new manager with many hoping for a high profile name or up-and-coming manager to get the job.
Despite the apathy towards Moyes and the anger from fans directed at the board, it appears all may not be lost for Hammers supporters.
That’s because a new report overnight suggests the club has three managers on its shortlist for the long-term who did not want to break their current contracts to take over the club mid-season.
According to The Mirror, West Ham have sounded out Watford boss Marco Silva, former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini – currently one of the best paid managers in the world at Hebei China Fortune in China – and Roberto Mancini at Zenit St Petersburg.
If the reports are to be believed it may give West Ham fans some heart although in order to stay up and attract a manager of that quality, Moyes will have had to have been a success creating a catch-22 situation for the owners.
