The Italian international is a wanted man in the Premier League, with Leicester City, Sunderland and West Brim keen.

West Brom and Sunderland have joined the race for the talented Sassuolo defender Francesco Acerbi – a player who has been heavily linked with a move to Leicester City in recent weeks.

It is being reported by GazzaMercato, a subsidiary of La Gazzetta dello Sport, that both West Brom and Sunderland have also been in touch about the potential signature of the Italian stalwart.

Leicester have also been interested in his signature for some time. This week it was reported by the Daily Mail that the Foxes were hopeful of bringing in the player for around £8 million as they bid to improve their defence after an indifferent start to the season.

Of course, both West Brom and Sunderland would also like to sign the player.

Tony Pulis is always looking to improve defensively and the 28-year-old is a player he would undoubtedly like to work with.

Sunderland in the meanwhile are in a relegation battle and need to bring in new recruits if they are to survive in the Premier League.

However, they are also short of cash and £8 million may be a bit too much of a stretch for the Italian international.
