Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton is hoping to bring Niko Kranjcar to Ibrox.
According to a report in the Daily Record, Niko Kranjcar’s transfer to Glasgow Rangers is on hold currently.
Kranjcar has emerged as one of Mark Warburton’s top targets to bring to Ibrox, as he looks to build his Rangers squad for next season.
Rangers will be back in the Scottish Premiership next term, and Warburton has already set to work with developing his squad.
Joey Barton, Jordan Rossiter, Matt Crooks and Josh Windass have all made moves to Ibrox, with Kranjcar tipped to be the next player through the door.
Rangers were said to be very close to concluding a deal for the former Tottenham and QPR midfielder last month, but the move it yet to be completed.
The Daily Record suggest that this is done to two reasons. Firstly, Warburton is currently on holiday – and away from Ibrox for the time being. Kranjcar, meanwhile, is studying for his UEFA B licence, as he begins to think about life after football.
Kranjcar is still widely expected to complete a move to Rangers in the coming weeks, with his current contract at New York Cosmos set to expire in the near future.
