Real Madrid have become the latest European giant to join the race to sign Tottenham star Dele Alli.

A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Real Madrid have joined Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli, and that Spurs may need to act if they hope to keep the player at White Hart Lane.

Los Blancos are currently serving a transfer ban, but will be able to sign players once again in the summer, and the Mirror suggests that an attempted move for the 20-year-old could well be on the cards.

And despite the former MK Dons midfielder only signing a new six-year deal worth nearly £60,000 a week in September, the Mirror suggests that Tottenham may need to consider opening fresh talks with the youngster if they hope to prevent him from wanting to follow in the footsteps of both Gareth Bale and Luka Modric by making the move to the Bernabeu.

That is because the Mirror is also reporting that Alli would find it extremely difficult to reject the Spanish giants if they came calling.

Though there are few clubs that can use their stature to attract players like Real Madrid can, it would perhaps make more sense for Alli to stay exactly where he is.

He is a key man for Mauricio Pochettino’s side – he has scored eight times in the Premier League already this term – and there is no guarantee that he would enjoy anything like the same status if he joined Madrid, which perhaps means that there would be a danger of his career stagnating despite his incredible potential if he moved.
