Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for one of Italy’s brightest prospects.
A report from the Evening Standard this morning claims that Spurs are monitoring Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi, with a view to making a bid in the summer.
The 22-year-old Italian is highly rated in his homeland, so much so that his club are trying to insert an £85 million release clause into his contract (the Sun).
But the Evening Standard report that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has drawn up a list of primary attacking targets, and that Bernardeschi features highly on that list.

The Lilywhites have been impressive so far this season, and currently sit in third position in the Premier League table, seven points behind league leaders Chelsea, but many fans and pundits believe they need to bolster their squad in the forward department, if they are to mount a sustained challenge for both domestic and continental success.
And Bernardeschi would seem to fit the criteria of the kind of player they need.

He has already achieved seven caps for his national side, and has been a permanent feature for Fiorentina in Serie A this season, appearing in all 18 of their league games, and scoring nine goals along with along with providing two assists.
The 22-year-old is also incredibly versatile, and can play anywhere across midfield and the frontline.
And the Evening Standard report that a whole host of European giants are also interested in signing the Italian, including the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
