Watford are reportedly keen on Manchester United winger Ashely Young.

A report from the Mirror suggests that Watford are interested in bringing former player and Manchester United fringe man Ashely Young back to the club in January.

The 31-year-old began his career at Vicarage Road, and spent five years with the Hornets before he made his £9.5 million move to Aston Villa in 2007.

He has since gone on to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s finest wingers, despite his lack of game time recently, and has achieved 30 international caps for England in the process.

And now the Mirror claim that Young has emerged as one of Watford’s primary January transfer targets, with Hornets boss Walter Mazzarri looking to add more width to his side.

The Hertfordshire club have made an admirable start to their 2016/17 Premier League campaign, and currently sit in 11th position in the table, after a return of 18 points from 14 games.

The potential acquisition of Ashely Young would certainly stand Watford in good stead for the rest of their campaign.

And Hornets fans will surely be pleased to hear speculation concerning their club being linked with a player of the Manchester United man’s quality.
