Sunderland manager David Moyes is reportedly keen to bolster his defensive options.
Aleksandar Dragovic
Sunderland will be sending scouts to watch Austrian duo Aleksandar Dragovic and Martin Hinteregger when they take on Wales tonight, according to the Chronicle.
The report claims that the Black Cats have monitored the pair over the past year, and with the January transfer window just under three months away, they are looking at the possibility of strengthening their defensive ranks.
David Moyes’ men have endured a woeful start to their campaign, and currently sit rock bottom in the Premier League table after two draws and five losses from their opening seven games.

The Chronicle reports that the club’s interest in Dragovic stretches back to Sam Allardyce’s time in charge at the Stadium of Light, and Moyes is similarly keen on the 25-year-old Bayer Leverkusen man.

Sunderland’s defence will certainly be an area of concern for Maoyes, with 13 goals conceded already after seven games, and the acquisition of Dragovic or Hinteregger would surely improve their defensive cohesion.
The problem for Sunderland fans is that by the time January comes around, it could very well be too little, too late.
