Birmingham City’s decision to appoint Steve Cotterill as manager has done little to improve their fortunes.

The Blues remain 22nd in the Championship, having won two and lost six of their 10 league fixtures under the 53-year-old.

But Cotterill’s position looks to be safe for the time being, with the Daily Mirror reporting that Birmingham’s hierarchy are reluctant to sack him having already changed managers three times in less than a year.

Cotterill, who was part of Harry Redknapp’s coaching team as the veteran boss led the Blues to survival at the end of last season, returned to replace Redknapp at the end of September.

Redknapp had only been in charge for five months before then, with his predecessor Gianfranco Zola holding the position for the same amount of time following Gary Rowett’s bizarre removal.

Rowett has since taken charge of Derby County, who are up to fourth in the Championship after Saturday’s win at Barnsley.

Should Birmingham City give yet another boss the boot?
