Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jack Roles is reportedly yet to sign a new contract with his current deal set to expire this summer.
Jack Roles’ future at Tottenham appears to be somewhat up in the air, with Football London reporting that he is out of contract at the end of the season and there has apparently been little movement regarding fresh terms for the 19-year-old.
Roles is one of the most exciting youngsters on Spurs’s books. He has made 24 appearances this term across Premier League 2, the UEFA Youth League and the EFL Trophy, and he has provided six goals and six assists in those games.
Nevertheless, it appears that there is a chance that he may not be a Tottenham player for too much longer as he continues to await the chance to follow the likes of Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp into the first-team.
Football London reports that his contract is set to expire in the summer and there has seemingly been no offer made regarding a new deal for Roles – who has appeared for Cyprus’s under-21 side.
Given his impressive form, it would arguably be a questionable decision to let Roles leave in the summer. He continues to show a lot of promise in the youth sides, so perhaps he could have a first-team role to play in the coming years.
And given that there have been a number of academy players at Spurs who have arguably gone on to become much better players than most would have imagined, there may be some expecting the decision to backfire if Tottenham do decide against offering him a new contract.
