A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that some of the staff at Sunderland are now expecting David Moyes to leave the Stadium of Light in the coming days as he grows even more disillusioned with life with the Black Cats.
Moyes has endured a nightmare season since arriving last summer, with Sunderland putting up a poor fight when it comes to trying to beat the drop in the Premier League and now gearing up for a campaign in the Championship.
The task is set to be made much tougher, with the Mirror reporting that Moyes’ transfer budget will not be boosted by any of the £45 million the club is set to receive in parachute payments.
And it appears that that fact has taken Moyes to breaking point with the Mirror adding that some of the staff are now expecting his departure to take place in the very near future.
Sunderland will be playing in the Championship next season
With the job at the Stadium of Light looking like it is going to be a tough task for whoever is in the dugout next term – especially if the transfer budget is not added to with the parachute payments – the Sunderland fans will surely be hoping that the decision on Moyes’ future is reached quickly.
The club surely have enough work on their hands already, and they need the manager in place – whether that be Moyes or someone else – as soon as possible to enable them to start making plans for how they are going to go about trying to secure promotion at the first time of asking.
