Norwich City have already utilised the German market twice this summer.

Eintracht Braunschweig centre-back Saulo Decarli appears to have turned down a move to Norwich City.

News38.de reports the 25-year-old had an invitation from Norwich which would have been financially rewarding, but claims he “did not want to” move.

Norwich recently appointed Daniel Farke, the former manager of Borussia Dortmund’s second team, as Alex Neil’s successor and have already utilised the German market twice this summer, signing Mario Vrancic [Darmstadt] and Christophe Zimmermann [Dortmund].

However, it is not clear if their alleged approach for Decarli came before or after the arrival of Zimmermann, who plays in the same position as the Braunschweig man.

Decarli, who is also said to have interest from Hamburg SV, will reportedly hold talks with Braunschweig ahead of pre-season to “explore all possibilities” and could even extend his contract with the Bundesliga 2 side.

The former Switzerland Under-21 international, whose sights are set on breaking into his country’s senior set up, still has two years left on his existing deal.

Norwich could still be in the market for defensive reinforcements, after releasing both Ryan Bennett and Sebastien Bassong this summer.
