Reports in Spain are suggesting that former Everton boss Roberto Martinez could be in line to be the next Spanish national team coach.
Diario as have suggested the Spaniard, who was sacked by Everton in May, could take over from Vicente Del Bosque as his position in charge of the Spanish side was cast into doubt after the recent exit from the European Championships at the hands of Italy.
They also mention Juan Garrido, Pepe Mel and Julen Lopetegui – but the presence of the former Everton and Wigan Athletic man’s name on the apparent shortlist will no doubt come as a massive shock to many fans of the Premier League – considering how his time at Everton came to an end.

Martinez was sacked by Everton last season after a poor campaign in the Premier League – despite making the semi-finals of both the FA and League Cups.
Everton moved fast to replace Martinez with their number one candidate – with Southampton boss Ronald Koeman deciding to switch the South-Coast for Merseyside earlier in the month.

But if Martinez ends up managing his nation, a nation which has only recently stopped dominating world football, he would have certainly found himself landing on his feet.
