West Ham teenage sensation Reece Oxford is close to signing a new deal with the club, according to the Sun.
The 17-year-old burst on to the scene last season with an impressive first-team debut in the Hammers opening day win over Arsenal.
His future at the club was the subject of intense speculation over the summer, however, with rumours linking him with moves to one of the Premier League’s super-clubs (Daily Mail).

The Sun go on to claim that Oxford is set to sign a new deal with the Hammers that will include a vast salary increase, along with clauses inserted for potential international call-ups for England.
A source close to the club spoke of how confident they are of keeping Oxford, as quoted by the Sun:
“Oxford is one of the most highly sought-after young players in the country and we’re sure he’ll stay with West Ham.”

Oxford has made 14 senior appearances in a West Ham shirt, and does not turn 18 until December.
His versatility enables to play in both centre-back and defensive midfield positions, and should the Hammers manage to keep hold of him in the long-run, it would be a massive statement of intent, and symbolic of their rising standing within the game.
