Nottingham Forest made an approach for Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles in August and should try to bring the Spaniard to the City Ground in January.

Nottingham Forest fans should get used to reports linking them with countless goalkeepers.
Because, after summer loan signing Adam Federici saw his spell at the City Ground ended before he’d even made his debut thanks to injury, Forest have been left waiting for the January transfer window to open in order to continue their search for a new number one.
And after a move for Everton glovesman Joel Robles came to nothing on transfer deadline day, per the Nottingham Post, there appears to be a very real chance that the deal could be back on in January.

The report adds that Joel wanted to leave Everton in the summer – and would consider dropping down to the Championship as he had his heart set on staying in England despite claims linking the one-time Atletico Madrid ‘keeper with a return to Spain.
And hindsight makes it very clear why Joel was so determined to depart Goodison Park. With Jordan Pickford firmly established as The Toffees’ first-choice, the Spaniard has featured just twice between the sticks for Everton this season – coming in Europa League clashes against Atalanta and Apollon Limassol.

So if Joel was tempted to leave Everton in the summer, it appears unlikely that he is any more content with life on Merseyside right now.
The former Wigan Athletic number one will surely emerge on Forest’s radar again then with just a few weeks until the January transfer window swings open.
