Everton are said to be interested in snapping up the play maker from Norwich City this summer.

James Maddison of Norwich City looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Ipswich Town and Norwich City at Portman Road on October 22, 2017 in Ipswich, England.

According to a report in the Eastern Daily Press, Norwich City are set to secure the signing of Emi Buendia and that could release James Maddison to move on.

Buendia is a play-maker, who can play anywhere across the front line, which means he appears a direct replacement for Maddision.

With Norwich now set to cover themselves for the departure of their star man, it could alert Everton to go back in for the £25 million rated prospect, as valued by Sky Sports.

Sky actually claimed that Everton were leading the race for Maddison earlier this week, but Norwich have kept hold of him to date.

The Canaries know just how tough it will be to replace Maddison, but seem to be covering for the potential loss of the England youth international this summer.

Maddison enjoyed a wonderful campaign at Championship level last term, when he provided goals and assists regularly.

It seems likely that Maddison will move on this summer, with so much Premier League interest in him, and Everton may find that doing a deal has just become a lot easier, with Norwich seemingly securing a replacement already.
