Newcastle United are reportedly keen to talk about a new deal with Sean Longstaff.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United want talks with midfielder Sean Longstaff once they’ve sorted out their managerial situation.
The Magpies all but clinched their Premier League status for next season by beating Leicester City on Friday, and the focus must now be on keeping boss Rafael Benitez.
Benitez’s contract at Newcastle expires this summer, and the Magpies’ primary concern must be keeping their manager at St James’ Park.
The Chronicle now report that once Newcastle get their managerial situation sorted – whether that’s Benitez staying or being replaced – they then want talks with midfielder Longstaff.
Longstaff, 21, has come up through the Newcastle ranks, and whilst Benitez doesn’t usual go with youth over experience, he’s found it impossible to ignore Longstaff this season.
The midfielder’s quality on the ball has seen him earn rave reviews, and whilst an injury has kept him out lately, he has certainly caught the eye.

The report notes that German sides Hertha Berlin, RB Leipzig and Schalke are all keen on Longstaff, whilst The Guardian recently claimed that Tottenham are interested in signing him too.
Longstaff signed a new deal in December, keeping him on Tyneside until 2022, but that was before his Premier League breakthrough – and renewed talks over a pay rise may well be imminent in order to ensure he doesn’t move on to one of those interested clubs.
