Newcastle United are being linked with Jan Hurtado.

Newcastle United fans may want to see Salomon Rondon sign permanently after a superb loan move form West Bromwich Albion – but a different Venezuelan attacker could be heading to Tyneside.
On Tuesday, Grupo La Provincia reported that Newcastle United want to land Gimnasia y Esgrima attacker Hurtado, and have made their first move to lure him to St James’ Park.
An offer is believed to be imminent from Newcastle, having been impressed with Hurtado’s progression in Argentina and with the Venezuelan national team.
Some Newcastle fans may not be too familiar with the 19-year-old, but he’s a quick and athletic forward who can play up front or out wide, and Newcastle may face a battle for his signature.
Marca Claro in Argentina recently claimed that Gimnasia have increased the release clause in Hurtado’s contract to $10million (£7.5million), meaning Newcastle know exactly what they have to pay.

They also added that a number of other clubs are interested in Hurtado, bizarrely from Borussia Dortmund to West Bromwich Albion, and even Cadiz in Spain.
That’s a wide range of clubs, leagues and situations for Hurtado, but the presence of international teammate Rondon may just give Newcastle an advantage in this race.
