Newcastle United’s on loan star Christian Atsu is a reported January transfer target for Torino.

Reports emanating from Italy today suggest that Serie A side Torino are interested in signing on-loan Newcastle United star Christian Atsu, despite his contract with the Magpies running until the end of the season, as reported by TuttoSport.
The 24-year-old Ghana international has failed to make a start for Newcastle since his move to St James’ Park on transfer deadline day.

The report from TuttoSport claims that Torino are confident of being able to strike a deal for Atsu, in a move that would see his loan spell on Tyneside cut short.
The Ghanaian moved to his parent club Chelsea from Porto in 2013, but has so far failed to make a competitive appearance for the Blues, and has had to endure five separate loan spells away from Stamford Bridge.

Atsu was Rafa Benitez’ 12th signing of the summer, but out of those incomings, he has probably had the least impact on the first-team side.
Despite being highly talented, it is difficult to see a place for him in the current Newcastle side, so maybe a move to Serie A would suit all parties concerned.
