Report suggests Newcastle could target another Kenedy loan this summer

Newcastle United appear to have pulled off a masterstroke by signing Kenedy on loan from Chelsea.

According to a report from the Chronicle, Newcastle could have a chance of signing Kenedy on a season-long loan deal in the summer, but only on the condition that Rafa Benitez remains in charge of the Magpies.

Kenedy has looked to be an inspired signing from Newcastle. Brought in on loan during the January transfer window, the Chelsea winger has taken little time to make an impact at St James’ Park.

The 22-year-old has looked bright during his handful of appearances so far, and made a much more important impact in Saturday’s vital game with Southampton as he scored twice to help the Magpies ease their relegation concerns.

The win took Newcastle five points clear of the bottom three, and staying up will surely be one of the factors that gives the Magpies a much better chance of holding onto Benitez in the summer if he has any concerns about his future with the club.

And it appears that the Magpies hierarchy have another incentive to make sure that Benitez remains next season, as the Chronicle suggests that signing Kenedy for the entirety of next season could be possible if the Spaniard is still in charge.

It is clear that playing under Benitez is an appealing option for many players so it is no surprise that the Chronicle believe that keeping hold of the manager could be the key to giving Newcastle a chance of re-signing Kenedy in the summer.

It would be a major coup for the Magpies if they managed to agree another deal for the Brazilian. But if he continues to impress as much as he has done so far, convincing Chelsea to let him go for the season may be a very tough task for Newcastle.
