The Eintracht Frankfurt star will not be leaving for less than £26.4 million.

Reports in Germany have today mentioned the interest two Premier League clubs have in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller. 90min is reporting that the French striker is of great interest to both Newcastle United and West Ham United – both teams who are short in the striking department. Inter Milan are also keen. Of course any deal would need to be concluded in the summer with the January transfer window now shut.
That said, the report also claims that the high-flying Bundesliga side would not be willing to part with their striker for a fee less than €30 million (£26.4 million).

That, in today’s market, does not seem like much. However, both West Ham and Newcastle will be kicking themselves for not making a move for the player in the summer as they could have gotten him for much cheaper.
Frankfurt were finally the team to take a risk on the French striker. They paid FC Utrecht of the Eredivisie around €6 million (£5.2 million) for the player, according to Goal, with a deal potentially rising to €7.2 million ((£6.3 million).
Considering his talent was no secret, and Newcastle in particular were being linked with the player, the fact they would now need to spend at least £20 million as much to bring him in will hurt two ownership regimes that hate to overspend.

West Ham and Newcastle have struggled with strikers this season. Haller meanwhile has been firing Frankfurt to an unlikely Champions League push. He has scored 12 goals in 22 appearances for the club who are currently fourth in the Bundesliga table.
He was a bargain who could have completely changed the landscape of both West Ham and Newcastle’s respective seasons had they took a risk in the summer. Instead, Frankfurt are laughing to the bank and maybe heading to the big show next season.
