The Portuguese coach had been linked with the vacancy at Molineux.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have been looking for a new manager over the past week or so, after sacking Walter Zenga after less than 90 days in charge.
Plenty of names have been linked with the job at Molineux but it looks increasingly likely that former Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is the man Wolves want to replace the Italian.
Former Olympiacos coach Marco Silva
Another name that was linked with the role was Marco Silva. The former Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos boss was an option put forward by the advisors to the club’s owners Fosun International.
However, according to a report in Portugal, Silva informed Wolves he was not interested in a move to England at the present moment. Noticias ao Minuto report that Silva rejected any approach from Wolves in the past week and that it was the second time he had done so far, after telling Wolves the same thing during the summer.
Former Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert
Wolves fans will be pleased that Silva is not on his way to Molineux. A foreign manager did not work in the case of Zenga and the appointment of a British boss with Championship experience is undoubtedly the preferred option for Wolves.
