Reports emanating from Italy suggest that Liverpool are considering a loan move for Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to Italian media outlet WebCalcio.net.

The France international’s form has been the subject of concern for the Inter management team over recent weeks, culminating in Frank de Boer’s harsh assessment of his player last week, when speaking to Mediaset Premium, and reported via the Daily Mail:

“This morning we talked about it, that he had to play simple and on the Bologna goal he did not do that. We already talked about this and he makes the same mistakes often. We cannot accept that from players when we’ve told them many times already. I told him this morning, so if he doesn’t want to listen, then what can I do? It’s not the first time we’ve discussed it. We told him many times, he doesn’t want to listen.”

With such flagrant disregard for his manager’s orders, it will be little surprise if the Serie A giants are indeed considering offloading the former Monaco man.

Despite his obvious problems at the San Siro, Kondogbia could actually be the ideal signing for Liverpool.

His powerful, physically imposing frame allows him to dominate games in the middle of the pitch – something that the Reds have been guilty of failing to do on a number of occasions since Jürgen Klopp’s arrival at Anfield, despite all of the positives.

WebCalcio.net go on to suggest that the player’s recent form, and his deteriorating relationship with De Boer has intensified Liverpool’s interest.

The Merseysider’s have begun their season in fine form, and any potential transfers over the winter will surely depend heavily on the position they are in come January 1st.
