Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing the Swansea City midfielder.
Leroy Fer celebrates scoring for Swansea
Reports emanating from Italy today suggest that Liverpool are keen on signing Swansea City’s Leroy Fer, following his impressive start to the Premier League campaign, according to Italian media outlet CalcioMercato.
The 26-year-old 11-capped Holland international only joined the Swans this summer, and has begun his time at the Liberty Stadium in eye-catching style, scoring three times in four Premier League outings.
The report from CalcioMercato states that it is unclear whether the Welsh side would be willing to part with the services of Fer, after they only recently laid out around £4.7 million (€5.6 million) to sign the Dutchman from Queens Park Rangers.

With player power now at an all-time high in the modern game, it can be incredibly hard to resist the overtures of a club like Liverpool, when a player gets wind of reported interest.
Fer is renowned for making perfectly timed runs onto the opposition’s penalty area, and could be a useful addition to the Liverpool side, although it is unsure where he would be utilised in their starting XI, with the newly acquired Georginio Wijnaldum already occupying the position Fer has excelled in.

With the transfer window currently closed, there will obviously be no movement in the coming months, but with the opening of the January window just three-and-a-half months away, if Fer continues to show the form he has done already, it would be no surprise if a club of Liverpool’s calibre made a move for the Dutchman.
