Unfortunately, there was also an unwanted exit. Lewis Cook has made a move to the Premier League, heading south to join AFC Bournemouth.

The England youth international was out of contract this summer and it seems the club decided to cash in on his services whilst they still had the opportunity.
Now a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post has made it quite clear how difficult it would have been for Leeds to convince Cook to stay at Elland Road on a financial level.

The report, which claims that Leeds could receive up to £10 million for the transfer, suggested that Cook will now be making five times as much at Bournemouth than he was at Leeds – with his weekly salary bumping to over £30,000-a-week from the £6,000-a-week he was on in Yorkshire.

Leeds are surely not in the position currently to have paid Cook, despite his immense talent, that sort of salary.
With the promise of Premier League football also a major factor, not to mention the topsy-turvy recent history of Leeds, keeping hold of Cook was nearly an impossible task for Leeds.
