The Yorkshire Evening Post are reporting that Leeds United goalkeeper Robert Green is set to be offered a new contract by the club, owing to an appearance-related clause in his current deal.
The 36-year-old veteran has appeared in all 12 of the Elland Road outfit’s Championship games so far this season, and has been an integral part of their recent resurgence, conceding just four goals in their last six outings.

The Yorkshire Evening Post claim that he will be offered a new deal, and not just because he will most certainly reach the amount of appearances required to trigger terms on a new contract, but also because he is now genuinely considered as the Whites’ number one goalkeeper, after he usurped Marco Silvestri as the start of the season.
Green has made 571 league appearances for four separate clubs, throughout a career that has spanned 17 years.

His experience will be invaluable for Garry Monk’s men, and how he performs will have a huge bearing on their hopes of reaching the play-off places.
Next up for the West Yorkshire side is home game against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night, before a trip to the Midlands to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
