According to Tuttomercatoweb, Lazio left back Jordan Lukaku looks set to stay with the club despite interest from both Leeds United and Brighton.

It’s claimed that Simone Inzaghi likes what Lukaku can bring, and now wants him to stay at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio are still in the market for another left-wing back; Jony hasn’t impressed Inzaghi and could return to Spain, whilst Senad Lulic is out injured.

SPAL star Mohamed Fares is the player Lazio want, but they seek him as competition for Lukaku rather than a replacement.

There is a caveat; Lukaku is out of contract at the end of the season, and Lazio could still be tempted to sell – but the plan for now is to keep him.

Leeds and Brighton are thought to be interested in Lukaku, but they may have to come up with a very good offer for the 26-year-old.

Barry Douglas has been linked away from Leeds, so adding Lukaku – a quick and technically impressive wing back – could well fit into Marcelo Bielsa’s setup.

Brighton left back Bernardo has been touted for an exit too, with Lukaku offering a more expansive option going forward than the defensively-strong Dan Burn – and the latest news will leave both sides with a decision to make on whether to continue their pursuit or look elsewhere.
