Report suggests Leeds goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s begun three-day trial at Landskrona

Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has reportedly begun a three-day trial in Sweden.

According to a report on Swedish side Landskrona’s official website, Leeds starlet Bailey Peacock-Farrell has begun a three-day trial with the club.

For a while now, Peacock-Farrell has been considered to be one of the brightest prospects coming through at Thorp Arch, regularly featuring for the Whites’ under-23 side and making one appearance for the first-team in April 2016.

On that day, the stopper – who was replacing the suspended Marco Silvestri – was only denied a clean sheet by a late penalty, which was conceded by Giuseppe Bellusci.

After that display, some supporters would have been forgiven for thinking that more first-team opportunities were just around the corner, but that has not been the case with the 21-year-old generally remaining with the under-23s barring a brief loan spell at York City earlier this season.

And now Swedish second tier side Landskrona have stated on their official website that the stopper has begun a three-day trial with them – though it is not clear what the trial is potentially leading to.

A loan deal would undoubtedly seem to be the most plausible option at this stage. Leeds confirmed in July that Peacock-Farrell had signed a new deal until the summer of 2020, so it is clear that he is a player that they have high hopes for.

It would be a major shock if a permanent move was potentially being considered, but again, the report does not suggest what could come of the trial at this stage.
