Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly consider sending Kyle Walker-Peters out on loan for the coming campaign.
Walker-Peters has been impressive in virtually every game that he has played for Spurs. He went into last season still awaiting his senior debut, but he was named man of the match on the opening day as Tottenham won at Newcastle, and he was just as impressive on the final day of the campaign in the dramatic victory over Leicester.
Nevertheless, he only managed to make one more league appearance throughout the entire campaign and played just nine times in total as Pochettino tended to rotate Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier.
Perhaps fearing that he may struggle to break into the side once again this season, Football London names Walker-Peters as one of the players that could be considered for a loan exit this summer.
If Pochettino is determined to stick with Aurier alongside Trippier, then it makes a lot of sense to send Walker-Peters out on loan. He is already showing signs that suggest that he is good enough to play in the Premier League, but his development could certainly stagnate if he is not able to play regularly at senior level.
And for the youngster himself, he should relish the opportunity to leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if he remains third choice. Proving himself at another club could perhaps present his best chance to stake a claim to Pochettino, so perhaps – if he is going to remain lower down the pecking order – he should now be pushing for the opportunity to leave temporarily amid reports that they could consider loaning him out.
