Juventus have opened the door for Leeds United to land long-term target Rodrigo De Paul, with Calciomercato reporting the Serie A champions can’t afford to pay the £35 million fee required.
One of the most thrilling teams in recent Premier League history certainly doesn’t struggle when it comes to creating chances.
Only the current top four – Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Leicester – have outscored Leeds in 2020/21.
But that doesn’t mean the Yorkshire giants plan to rest on their laurels, even if their top-flight status looks secure for another season.
Despite baulking at De Paul’s £35 million price tag last summer, according to The Mirror, there’s a real chance Leeds will go all out for the crafty Argentine in the near future, their coffers boosted by an impressive return to the top flight (Sun).
And while Leeds are far from the only club fluttering their eyelashes in De Paul’s direction, the Premier League newcomers may have an advantage over Italian powerhouses Juventus – and it’s not often we can say that.

CM claims that while De Paul has admirers at the Allianz Stadium, Andrea Pirlo’s Serie A giants have no intention of meeting his £35 million price tag.
Interestingly, Juventus chose Federico Chiesa, the former Fiorentina road-runner, over De Paul in 2020 too.
“He has characteristics many top clubs in Europe are missing, not only Juventus,” Udinese director Pasquale Marino said this week.
“Whoever signs him next summer will raise their team to a different level.”
