The Peruvian legend was recently linked with a shock move to the Championship.

It was recently reported in Peru that Sheffield Wednesday were in the race to sign the talented winger Jefferson Farfan on a free transfer.

El Bocon reported that the Owls are an option for the player – who is currently a free agent after leaving Al Jazira in October.

The report added that Farfan is still in the Peruvian capital training on his own but hopes to complete a move to England.

Sheffield Wednesday fans were of course very excited to hear of Farfan being a potential target.

The 32-year-old has great pedigree in the Champions League with the likes of PSV Eindhoven and Schalke 04.

But in recent years Farfan’s career has been blighted by injury problems and it seems this will stop any move from Sheffield for the player.

El Bocon is now reporting that Farfan will not be securing any moves to clubs in the immediate future, as he must recover from an injury problem first.

The report suggests he is not set to join any team in the near future as his injury trouble continues.

It seems that Sheffield Wednesday may not be getting their hands on this big name after all.
