Leeds United were linked with David Stockdale following his exit from Brighton and Hove Albion, but he has now moved elsewhere.

A report in the Yorkshire Evening Post has suggested that while Leeds were interested in signing David Stockdale following the expiration of his contract with Brighton, they never made a firm offer for the goalkeeper.
Stockdale – who is a Leeds fan – helped the Seagulls secure promotion to the Premier League but has ended up seeking a new challenge despite having the chance to stay with Chris Hughton’s side.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that the Whites were linked with a move for the 31-year-old, but he surprised many by agreeing a deal with Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham City.
Some Leeds fans may perhaps be scratching their heads wondering why they missed out after reports linked them with a move, but it appears that the Whites did not make his decision on his future any more difficult.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds never followed up their initial interest with a concrete offer.
Though it cannot be said for certain that he would have come to a different decision had the Whites tabled a contract offer, it could certainly be argued that he would have found it difficult to turn them down given his love for the club and the promise they showed during the previous campaign.
But in fairness to Stockdale, with no manager in place at Leeds currently, you could also see why a move to St Andrew’s could have appealed more even if the Yorkshire side had officially entered the running.
